A few months back I told you about Color, an app that lets you broadcast snippets of video to all your friends on Facebook. Now, I wasn’t particularly hot on Color — the idea didn’t seem that special (Qik has been around for almost 4 years or more), I didn’t like the Facebook-only integration and the amount of video that you got to shoot was pretty small.
Well since then Color has worked out some sort of special partnership with Verizon, apparently, to tout the ability of the wireless carrier to stream HD video from Android devices. As you can tell by my tone, I’m still not entirely sold on the concept (although I think the app itself has improved a lot).
Anywho, the company has apparently decided to give away free macro lens after you’ve used Color to broadcast 5 times. I have no idea if these lens are or will work with Android devices (because they’re all so different and the promos show an iPhone 4). It’s also unclear if this is for new sign ups or existing ones, but if you want to get in on the action you’ll have to broadcast 5 times before September 30th.
Head over to the link below to sign up. Be warned that this is a Facebook only thing, so if you don’t like adding apps to your account then you’ll not be a fan of Color. This is also for U.S. residents only, because macro lenses are difficult and costly to ship overseas.
